Position Overview:
 
Siemens is looking for a talented Frontend Developer to join our Platform Engineering team. This team is a part of Siemens Global Marketing Digital Platforms group of 140+ members. Their mission is to develop the optimal marketing experience for Siemens Digital Industries Software by applying modern design principles and methodologies to deliver simple, elegant, and frictionless user interfaces. Our forward-thinking approach focuses on best-in-class digital experiences that strategically utilize emerging technologies and practices towards the goal of enhancing the customer journey from pre- to post-sales. The Platform Engineering team helps develop concepts into testable and deployable interfaces with which our end users can see, touch, and interact with, from which we iterate and launch.

The Frontend Developer is responsible for producing clickable HTML / XHTML prototypes, animations, and online interfaces within production deadlines and according to functional specifications. To help streamline this process, the Frontend Developer works with interaction and visual designers to help define, construct, and deliver design systems encompassing style guides, usage guides, component documentation, and is responsible for evangelizing their usage throughout the organization. This role combines a thorough knowledge of current design trends along with a working knowledge of front-end technologies to interface across a variety of digital products. This role will work as part of an overall development team that leverages agile methodology in collocated/ remote work environment.

Responsibilities
Help prototype and deploy user-facing websites, components, and web applications.
Work with designers and fellow front-end developers to create accessible interaction modules, screen layouts, style guides, pattern libraries, images, icons, and other visual elements.
Applying and updating existing brand (visual and interaction) standards to accommodate new websites, products, and campaigns.
Validate code is built as designed during projects (according to brand standards, style guides and pattern libraries).
Review artifacts and deliverables from peer developers and designers to ensure they accurately represent the Siemens coding standards and brand requirements.
Skills and abilities:
Solid CSS3 knowledge
Professional proficient with HTML5 and CSS3
Intermediate behavioral JavaScript experience.
Exposure to a modern JavaScript framework: React, Vue or Angular.
You are familiar with SASS you and understand mixins and SASS functions.
Experience with GIT with an understanding of core GIT concepts such as branching
Experience with building and deploying modern front-end web applications on the modern JamStack
Familiarity working with design systems, creating style guides and pattern libraries
You have experience working with multi-disciplinary teams to successfully take designs through their full life cycle—from concept to launch
Ability to work in a cross-channel environment, including desktop / laptop, and mobile devices
General understanding of UX best practices
Knowledge of agile software development lifecycles such as Scrum and Kanban.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or commensurate professional experience
2+ years’ work experience as a frontend developer/designer
2+ years’ work experience CSS
2+ years’ work experience HTML5
Preferred qualifications:
3+ years’ work experience in building marketing web sites/applications
2+ years’ experience working in an Agile development environment
