Data Scientist Lead

The data science team is designed to drive business insights and decisions through advanced analytics. This team is expected to work across all areas of the business by providing models to help optimize decision making across the organization.

Position Responsibilities:

Lead a team of data scientists in their development of machine learning, statistical modeling, and optimization efforts in support of strategies and decision-making needs.
Provide leadership, development, and mentoring to managers and associates through examples and timely feedback.
Provide senior thought leadership to solve “new” problems via designing approach and executing on that approach.
Design, oversee and lead in the creation, development, and management of models.
Establish the vision and annual objectives of the team, identifying key roles and responsibilities and goals of major department initiatives.
Supervision and establishment of key measures for the area.
Consistent and continuous evaluation of the department’s activities and controls to ensure we are meeting the vision and the goals.
Complete understanding of internal systems and consultation with technology leaders to improve the communication and deployment of effective and efficient solutions.
Develop and manage business relationships across the organization.
Demonstrate ability to understand financial concepts and financial analysis.

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:
Hiring Minimum: $152,284
Hiring Maximum: $259,295

Position Qualifications:

Seven years’ experience using predictive modeling, or optimization to solve real world business problems.
Demonstrated ability to use R and/or Python.
Experience leading teams of Data Scientists or Analytic associates.
Experience identifying predictive modeling (regression/classification) and/or numerical optimization (linear/nonlinear) solutions to business relevant applications. Ability to work with large data sets (millions of rows, thousands of columns) both structured and unstructured.
Ability to present findings to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
