About This Role
Come join us in Firm Analytics, where we strive to unleash the full potential of data and analytics to address business challenges. As a Data Analyst on our team, you will design, develop and deliver analytic solutions requiring advanced data wrangling, problem-solving, and analytical knowledge in support of data-driven strategies. You will combine data from multiple sources to develop innovative solutions to business problems and collaborate with business partners and other data analysts to develop tailored analytic solutions that inform and influence business decisions across the firm.

What You’ll Do
Translate ambiguous business problems into questions that can be answered by leveraging analytical approaches and techniques
Develop a strong understanding of the Edward Jones Solutions-Based Approach to ensure that insights derived from analyses are actionable and relevant
Help solve strategic challenges facing the firm through data using various technologies, languages, and analytical methods to provide actionable insights that support business decisions.
Analyze the effectiveness of programs, summarize and present data to enhance future efforts using appropriate statistical methods.
Develop business relationships and partnerships with cross-functional targeted business owners and senior leaders across the organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams of various areas of expertise across the firm in order to complete analytics projects that support divisional and firm-wide business objectives
Learn from other team members, associates, and leaders across the firm on data and statistical concepts and best practices.

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:
Hiring Minimum: $66,379
Hiring Maximum: $109,459

Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in business, economics, math, engineering or analytics (or relevant work experience). Advanced degree is a plus.
3 years+ business experience in marketing, finance, data analytics, or related quantitative field
Strong analytical, critical, and systems thinking
Prioritize and execute multiple tasks/projects and adjust to changing priorities with leader involvement
Extract large amounts of data and perform analyses using various tools and techniques including explaining trends and using statistical techniques
Effectively communicate with associates and leadership across the firm using verbal, written and presentation skills
Gain understanding of the firm and how data impacts decision making in each functional area supported
Works effectively both independently and in a team environment.
Technical Qualifications:
Knowledge of relational database theory and proficiency in writing and understanding complex SQL code (e.g. windows functions, defining parameters, loops)
Coding using scripting languages such as but not limited to Python, R, and/or other statistical analysis tools
Data visualization – Knowledge of tools such as Power BI & Tableau
Microsoft Excel – experience using pivot tables, formulas, macros, charts/graphs
Knowledge of data mining, ETL, API, and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
