Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Controllership Accountant III to be based in our Fort Mill-
South Carolina location.
Responsible for planning- coordinating and controlling business unit financial
administration functions- such as balance sheet and income statement analysis-
budget analysis forecasting and variance reporting- intercompany transaction
accounting and reconciliation- SOX compliance reporting- audit coordination-
financial reporting and monitoring for business unit. Responsible for accurate
and timely reporting of financial data to business and corporate management.
Provide guidance to business unit and project business management within th

latitude of established company and accounting procedures.

Performs professional level accounting support- related to the most complex accounting tasks.

Recommends changes to policies and procedures that affect immediate organization.

Advanced level within the scope of the position.

Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors- including understanding of current business trends.

Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.

May have budget oversight responsibilities. Erroneous decision or failure to achieve results adds to costs and may impact short-term goals of organization.

Manages the coordination of reporting activities of a group or projects with responsibility for results. In some instances- may be responsible for functional area and does not have direct reports or subordinate employees

Works independently and requires very minimal supervision.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor|s degree in finance- accounting- business administration or equivalent degree with 4 years of professional experience in technical accounting with construction or engineering firm or demonstrated equivalency of education & experience.

Good computer skills- particularly MS Excel and Word.

Ability to plan develop- coordinate and direct detailed phases of accounting and business administration functions.

Performs work requiring advanced accounting experience.

Knowledge of business and administrative principles and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA or CMA certifications are preferred.

Prior experience in accounting/controllership position with with construction and/or engineering firm is especially preferred.

Familiarity with union construction- maintenance and service work- intercompany foreign entities are a plus.
