Job Summary
JW Williams Inc.- an AECOM company- is seeking a CAD Specialist I to perform
design/drafting activities in support of our code fabrication and
modularization services. This position can be located in Waller- TX or Casper-
WY.
This AECOM subsidiary provides code fabrication and modularization servicers
for the Oil & Gas industry- which includes- a cost effective |turn-key|
solution for process equipment- including engineering design- fabrication-
installation- assembly- start up- and field service needs.
Position Description or Typical Responsibilities:
Works to project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices- standards and procedures.
Coordinates work with that of others in discipline group and other discipline groups on the project.
Prepares complete information for design details- bill of materials- etc.- that can be distributed to other design or draft personnel for completion.
Understands project scope as presented within a specific discipline.
Ensures that designs are consistent with project technical requirements and scope.
Provides support for client`s engineering deliverables.
Advises the Design Supervisor- Lead Designer or Supervising Discipline Engineer about status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule- budgets- delays and adverse problems.
Checks assigned drawings supplied by vendors- clients and other discipline groups throughout the project to ensure quality designs.
Provides technical guidance and assistance to other design and draft personnel and is responsible for neatness and accuracy of work.
Ensures quality- quantity and completeness of the assigned design tasks.
Plans and schedules design tasks associated with assigned project.
Keeps proper files and records related to assigned design activities.
Develops understanding of industry codes and standards.
Understands and uses computer software and applications associated with design assignments.
Continually upgrades technical knowledge and capabilities and pursues additional coursework and training.
Complies with company`s safety awareness program- office and/or field safety policies.
Develops an understanding of the role of each of the other disciplines in Engineering.
Conforms to company core values.
Job Summary CAD Specialist I:
Works under direct- close supervision.
Performs standardized or prescribed CADD assignments- involving a sequence of related operations.
Follows specific- standardized procedures to achieve set results and deadlines.
Performs routine applications- scale and edit assignments involving the use of computer aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software (e.g. CADD software) to achieve set results and deadlines.
Digitize or trace sketches or concepts from designers using CADD software- such as AutoCAD and Solidworks
Works on assignments that are routine in nature- requiring limited judgment.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors Degree with no experience or Associates Degree + 2 years of CAD Design/Drafting experience or High School Diploma/GED + 4 years of CAD Design/Drafting experience.
AND
Demonstrated proficiency utilizing AutoCAD 2D.
Demonstrated proficiency utilizing Solidworks.
Demonstrated proficiency utilizing MS office- Word- Excel and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
Design / Drafting experience on Oil & Gas process equipment to include- but not limited to:
Pressure Vessels- piping systems and natural gas dehydration.
Knowledge of ASME and ANSI codes/standards.
The ability to understand engineering documents- codes and specifications.
Knowledge in Solidworks Routing and Weldment functions.
Willing and able to work in a fabrication shop environment.
