AECOM has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC- known as the Waste Treatment
Completion Company (WTCC) to construct- start-up and commission the world`s
largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy
(DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification
technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and
chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of
plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE`s most
technically challenging cleanup projects—equivalent to building two nuclear
power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for
pretreatment- low-activity waste vitrification- and high-level waste
vitrification- as well as an analytical laboratory.

Minimum Requirements

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (or
equivalent discipline) from a four-year accredited college or university.

Experience: Minimum of seven years of professional experience. Experience
in processing facilities- DOE facilities- or DOD facilities preferred. One
year of Nuclear facility experience required. (Nuclear Experience when used in
reference to Nonreactor Nuclear Facilities- is experience acquired at any
facility in which radioactive materials are routinely handled- stored-
processed- or utilized.) A Bachelor of Science (BS) may be substituted for up
to 3 years of nuclear experience.)

Experience with medium voltage power (13.8KVA).

Experience with low voltage power.

Experience implementing NFPA 70B requirements into maintenance work
procedures.

Experience maintaining configuration control of technical documents to
project/site procedures and federal compliance.

Job Summary
Maintains an established data distribution system and schedule for the assigned project based upon client- project- and supplier requirements.
May revise system or schedule as required to ensure timely approvals and distribution.
Ensures changes to document in a timely fashion in order to meet set deadlines.
Responsible for coordination with other parties to make sure document edits are made and proofed.
Tracks and keeps records of documents.
Follows standardized procedures but may have to use discretion to complete project.
Ensures document tracking and production system is maintained.
Prepares and maintains a document control system for all forms of documentation.
Assures that all completed documents have been signed-off by the appropriate personnel.

Distributes copies of documents to the appropriate personnel.

Implements and follows company quality assurance program procedures.

Minimum Requirements

HS + 2 YORE or demonstrated equivelency of experience and or education.

Preferred Qualifications

3+ Years of experience with document controls experience in a disaster relief
environement

Document management & tracking experience

Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 3 for the Greenwood Village- CO office.
AECOM Management Services team provides full service nuclear design solutions
to the federal government (DOE- NNSA and NIST)- nuclear laboratories- and the
commercial nuclear power industries. AECOM is seeking a highly motivated- team
oriented Mechanical Engineer to support HVAC Design projects in the Greenwood
Village Colorado office.
The ideal candidate will have desire to join Mechanical group of engineers in
accepting a wide range of assignments- both nuclear and non-nuclear- and enjoy
a team design environment.

Job Description

The engineer will design systems for a variety of facility projects. Work
typically includes support of project proposals; design calculations(cooling
and heating loads- equipment selection- duct and pipe pressure drops);
developing Ventilation flow diagrams- piping and instrumentation diagrams- and
Control sequences of operations; selection and layout of mechanical equipment
and associated duct and piping systems; and developing mechanical construction
and equipment specifications- and system design descriptions. The engineer
will typically work in a design team environment consisting of a project
manager- project engineer- and multi-discipline architectural and engineering
staff to produce project design packages of drawings- specifications- and
calculations. Periodic travel to job site and client offices site locations
may be required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Supports development of project proposals. Develops scopes and budget estimates for mechanical discipline work. Assists in development of project schedules.

Responsible for planning- conducting and coordinating detailed phases of design work.

Independently evaluates criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.

Assigns tasks to and coordinates work with designers- 3D modeler and administrative staff.

Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignment.

Participates in client design reviews.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor`s degree in Mechanical Engineering- or related scientific field with a minimum of 5 years of engineering/design experience or equivalent.

Engineering Technology degree will not be considered

Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (E.I.T.).

Experience with Mechanical design of equipment

Ability to read and follow procedures

Experience with 3D design software required.

Must be capable of preparing and reviewing specifications and data sheets for mechanical equipment- reviewing supplier data to assure specification and project requirements are met- and coordinating with client requirements and industry standards

Working knowledge of MS Office products (Word- Excel).

Position may require travel.

Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Due to nature of the work- candidate must be US Citizen.

Individuals holding dual Citizenship are not eligible.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with Department of Energy (DOE) projects is preferred.

Prior work experience with HVAC systems preferred.

PE license is preferred.
