Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a creative- highly talented Electrical Engineer for
immediate employment in the Los Angeles- CA office. You will have the
opportunity to work on various designs of high performance buildings within
multiple sectors including Federal Civilian and DoD- Sports Arenas- Themed

The responsibilities of this position include- but are not limited to:

Working with the Lead Electrical Engineer performing electrical engineering designs from conceptual through construction administration and post-occupancy

Coordinating with multiple disciplines and assisting Lead electrical engineer to ensure that projects are delivered within budget and on schedule

Assist Lead electrical engineer to review and approve shop drawings and attend client meetings during the construction administration phase

Assists with writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings

Ensures discipline plans that are created meet overall project team requirements for project scope and schedule

Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical discipline

Ensures conformance with standards- established design practices- applicable codes- and technical adequacy of design and construction

Assists with the research- development- designing- specification and witnesses testing of electrical systems- equipment- components and materials- applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering

Assists Lead Electrical Engineer with site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems- equipment- components and materials for projects with and without well-defined scopes

Develops designs within a BIM design environment

Develops- designs and specifies site electrical power- and equipment- components and materials

Develops- designs and specifies equipment- components and materials for all building electrical systems

Directs activities to verify installed electrical systems- equipment- components and materials conform to the requirements of project contract documents

Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to those listed above

Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Identifies discrepancies in results.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor`s Degree in Electrical Engineering

2+ years of electrical engineering experience with a consulting or design build firm

Experience with Revit and AutoCAD based design projects

Excellent communication skills: articulate- assertive and confident

Key Responsibilities

Architect and influence future mobile product design by providing technical expertise and engineering leadership; strong focus on the front-end design cycle

Essential Requirements

Advanced proficiency to create and analyze functional and design specifications- create system block diagrams- as well as test plans and documentation.
Advanced knowledge of analog and digital circuit theory and principles.
Advanced understanding of relevant technologies- specifically x86 architecture- vendor products and competitor|s offerings.
Advanced ability to identify potential product weakness and be able to provide design guidance and recommendations for improvements to subsequent redesigns.
Strong aptitude to assess and optimize products by making the proper feature tradeoffs between mechanical- electrical- power- thermal- firmware- and BIOS
Must have advanced experience with ECAD and electrical simulation tools (Cadence OrCAD/Allegro/Sigrity/Power SI/Power DC- Mentor HyperLynx)- ability to create basic schematics- PCB floor planning and layouts- production schematic proposals- and convey ideas through ECAD.
